Simple Winter Mantel

Using what I had on hand, I decided to add a few things to my mantel after the Christmas decorations came down.  I left my barn stars on barbed wire hanging beneath the mantel as well as the lanterns from my daughter's wedding.    I added some pewter candlesticks I've had for 30 years and some pine cones from the yard. (Free is good!)   Oh, and a little metal bird for some whimsy.

I have to be careful about what I use on the fireplace because we use it a lot in the winter and I don't want anything to catch on fire.

  2. Your fireplace looks so warm and cozy! I love the barn stars, the barbed wire is an awesome look. And the pine cones and lanterns really give the mantel a winter like feeling. So nicely done!
